Teach girls it’s okay to not want kids. Or even like them. That they can be functional people without being a mother. That deciding into their 30s they want kids isnt bad and they’re not “too old.” Teach girls that they don’t have to sell their youth to kids. Because motherhood isn’t for everyone. And we need to stop acting like it is.
It’s just that MCU’s Peter Parker is heavily influenced by the Miles Morales comics. Many of the regular elements of Peter Parker’s story (low-income, raised by elderly relative, into photography) were traded out for elements of Miles’s story (normal income, raised by middle-aged guardian, goes to a charter school for smart kids, has an Asian best friend). A lot of people think MCU Spider-man should have just been Miles in the first place because MCU Spider-man feels closer to him than Peter.
